Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Udupi was established in 1957. MIT is affiliated to Manipal University, Manipal and is accredited by AICTE and NBA. The institute has been ranked 5th among the private engineering colleges in India by Outlook in 2015, 8th among the private engineering college by The Week in 2015 and 16th among All Engineering College in India by India Today in 2015. The institute has also been awarded the Institute of Eminence (IOE) by Govt. of India in 2018. MIT offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD programs in various disciplines.
