Mizoram ran one of the fastest processes in the country this year: applications opened on 20 July and shut eight days later, with two merit lists already published. The ZMC NRI quota window is still live. Here is what remains actionable.

The short answer. Mizoram NEET UG 2026 ran two separate processes. State quota applications for MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BVSc & AH opened 20 July and closed at 3:00 PM on 28 July 2026, with provisional merit lists published on 24 and 28 July. The Zoram Medical College NRI quota remains open until 7 August 2026, with forms costing Rs 20 and submitted in person at the Technical Wing office in Aizawl. Seats are allotted by MCC for All India Quota and by the Higher & Technical Education Department for state and NRI quota — not by the college.
Four days after NTA declared the Re-NEET UG 2026 result on 16 July, the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education opened its state quota application process for MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BVSc & AH seats. It ran offline: candidates bought a Report Form for ₹10 at the Technical Wing Office of the Directorate at Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl, attached their NEET UG 2026 scorecard, and submitted before 3:00 PM on 28 July 2026.
The first provisional merit list appeared on 24 July while applications were still open, and the second on 28 July, the closing day itself. The notice was signed by Er. K. Zodingliana, Joint Director (Technical), Higher & Technical Education, in his capacity as Member Secretary of the State Selection Board Committee. Selection and admission rounds follow, with schedules published on dhte.mizoram.gov.in.

A lesson from Mizoram's calendar, for every NE family. Eight days from opening to closing, with the merit list out before the window shut. There was no room in that schedule for a family that waited to hear about it from a neighbour. If your state's directorate publishes notices on a departmental website rather than a counselling portal, check it weekly from the day the result is declared.
Under a public notice of 17 July 2026 (reference A.46015/2/2023-JDT(HTE)/155), the Technical Wing invited NRI candidates to apply for MBBS seats under the NRI quota at Zoram Medical College, Falkawn. Readymade application forms cost ₹20.
At the Technical Wing office in Aizawl, between 20 July and 7 August 2026. This is a physical submission, not an online one, which means an NRI family applying from abroad needs someone on the ground in Aizawl or a properly authorised representative.
The H&TE Department, not the college. ZMC's own admission page tells candidates not to contact the college about allotment, and confirms that only students allotted by MCC (for All India Quota) or by the H&TE Department (for State and NRI quota) will be admitted.
Document verification and final admission are completed offline at Zoram Medical College, with the candidate present alongside a parent or guardian, followed by a final medical check-up by the college Medical Board. Admission timings for state quota are posted under Admission News on the college website.
A word on NRI claims. NRI quota is defined by a documented Non-Resident Indian relationship, not by willingness to pay a higher fee. If your family does not have a genuine NRI sponsor with the paperwork to prove it, this quota is not a route for you, and any consultant who tells you otherwise is setting your family up to lose both money and a year. We would rather lose the enquiry than tell you that.

How to use this page. Every date here was checked against the official counselling authority's own website on 31 July 2026. State authorities extend and revise deadlines at short notice, sometimes with only a few hours' warning, so treat this page as a starting point and confirm the current date on the official portal before you pay any fee. Orchid Education Foundation is an independent admission guidance firm. We are not an agent of any counselling authority, we cannot influence any allotment, and no seat in India can be obtained without a valid NEET UG 2026 score.
It has passed. The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Mizoram, opened applications on 20 July 2026 and closed them at 3:00 PM on 28 July 2026. The first provisional merit list was published on 24 July and the second on 28 July. Candidates who applied should now track dhte.mizoram.gov.in for the selection and admission rounds.
Offline, and unusually simply. Candidates filled a Report Form and attached their NEET UG 2026 scorecard. Forms were sold at the Technical Wing Office of the Directorate at Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl, for ₹10 each. The notice was issued by the Joint Director (Technical), Higher & Technical Education, who is also Member Secretary of the State Selection Board Committee. It covered MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BVSc & AH seats.
Yes, until 7 August 2026. Under a public notice issued on 17 July 2026, the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (Technical Wing), Government of Mizoram, invited applications from NRI candidates for MBBS seats under the NRI quota at Zoram Medical College, Falkawn. Readymade application forms cost ₹20 and are submitted at the Technical Wing office in Aizawl between 20 July and 7 August 2026.
Two authorities, and neither of them is the college. All India Quota seats are allotted by MCC. State Quota and NRI seats are allotted by the Technical Wing of the Higher & Technical Education Department, Government of Mizoram. ZMC's own admission page is explicit that students should not contact the college directly about allotment, and that only candidates allotted by MCC or the H&TE Department will be admitted.
Through the 15% All India Quota filled by MCC, yes — ZMC participates in AIQ counselling like other government colleges, and closing ranks there have historically been competitive. Through the state domicile quota, no. The NRI quota is defined by NRI status rather than by domicile, so a genuinely NRI-sponsored candidate can apply, but the documentation requirements are strict and the Aizawl submission is physical.
MCC Round 1 registration runs 5 to 12 August, Puducherry closes on 6 August, Gujarat on 12 August and NEIGRIHMS on 17 August. Tell us your score and domicile and we will map what is genuinely still available to you.
