Why Walk In Instead of Just Calling

A Phone Call Gets You Advice.
A Visit Gets You a Plan.

We look at your actual marksheet

Not a rough number you remember from a WhatsApp forward. Bring the real scorecard, the real Class 12 marks, the real category certificate if you have one, and we work from what is actually in front of us. Most bad decisions in this admission cycle start from someone guessing at their own numbers.

Parents ask the questions students won't

Fees over five years. Hostel safety. What happens if a rank slips in Round 2. These come up more honestly in a room than on a call, and we would rather answer them once, properly, than have a family find out the hard way in September.

Paperwork gets checked on the spot

Domicile certificates, ST(H) and ST(P) papers, migration certificates for students who studied outside their home state — these are the things counselling authorities reject applications over. We have seen the same three mistakes for seventeen years. Better we catch them at our desk than a verification officer catches them at yours.

No appointment, no waiting list

We know families travelling in from Shillong, Dimapur or Silchar cannot always plan a visit two weeks ahead. So we do not run one. Walk in during office hours and someone will see you.

What Happens in the Room

MBBS and BDS Are Our Bread and Butter.
Here's What We Cover for Each.

MBBS — where your score actually lands

All India Quota versus state quota versus management quota, explained against your real rank, not a rough estimate. Which states are realistic on budget. What the security deposit actually protects and when it gets forfeited. Full MBBS guide →

BDS — the choice families rush

A qualifying NEET score with no high-rank requirement makes BDS accessible in ways MBBS is not, and that also means families decide too fast. We walk through college quality, real placement numbers and whether BDS or a lower-fee MBBS route actually serves your five-year plan better. Full BDS guide →

Documents that survive verification

We go through your actual paperwork in the room — domicile, category, migration certificates for NE students studying elsewhere — and flag what is missing or wrongly filed before a counselling authority does it for you.

The counselling calendar, mapped to you

Which windows are open right now, which apply to your domicile, and which order to register in so you do not miss a deadline chasing another one. Live deadline tracker →

Beyond MBBS and BDS

We Also Guide the Rest of the Path

MBBS and BDS are what most families walk in for. If your question sits elsewhere in medicine, we cover that too.

Since 2008

Seventeen Years of the Same Desk

OEF started in Guwahati because students from this region were making five-year decisions on the strength of an agent's promise, with nobody checking whether that promise held up. It still does not always hold up. What changed is that families now have somewhere in Downtown Guwahati to walk in and get the paperwork checked before the money moves, not after.

More than 2,000 students have come through that door since. Some walked out with an MBBS plan. Some walked out choosing BDS or BAMS instead, for reasons that made sense once the numbers were on the table. A few walked out being told, plainly, that this year was not their year and a structured repeat attempt was the better call. We would rather say that once, in the room, than let a family find out in October.

NEET UG qualification is mandatory for every MBBS and BDS seat in India, government or private, with no exception. Anyone offering a seat without it is not offering you anything real. That is the one thing we will never soften, no matter how far someone has travelled to hear it.

Before You Visit

Questions Parents Ask Us

Do I need an appointment to visit the OEF office in Guwahati?
+

No. Walk in any day, Monday to Saturday, 11 AM to 6 PM. We are on the 3rd floor of Red Stone Building, beside Pantaloons, Downtown Guwahati. NEET season gets busy in the afternoon, so mornings are quieter if you want more time with a counsellor.

Is the first counselling session actually free?
+

Yes, no fee and no catch attached to it. You bring your NEET score or your Class 12 marks if you have not taken NEET yet, and we tell you honestly what it opens up. If the honest answer is that your options are limited this year, we say that too, in the same session.

Can students from outside Assam visit the office, or only Assam residents?
+

Anyone. We have guided students from Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, alongside Assam. If travelling to Guwahati is hard, call or WhatsApp first and we will do everything possible over the phone before you need to come in.

Do you guarantee an MBBS or BDS seat?
+

No, and be careful of anyone who tells you they can. NEET UG qualification is mandatory for every medical and dental seat in India, no exception, and no consultant anywhere can guarantee an outcome that depends on your score, category and the seat matrix in a given year. What we do is tell you which colleges and quotas genuinely fit your number, and help you avoid the mistakes that cost families a year or a security deposit.

What is the difference between visiting OEF and just calling a college directly?
+

A college tells you about itself. We have counselled students into MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS seats across states since 2008, so we can tell you how one college compares to another on fees, faculty, hostel and placement reality — not just the brochure version. And because we are not tied to any single institution, there is no reason for us to steer you towards one over another except what actually fits you.
